Langtang region MapLangtang is a narrow Valley that lies just south of the Tibetan border. It is sandwitched between the main Himalayan range to the north and a slightly lower range of snowy peaks so the south. Langtang Lirung (7246m) dominates the valley to the north ;Gang Chhenpo ( 6388m) and Naya Kangri (5846m) lit to the south ;and Dorje Lakpa (6966m) protects the est end of the valley. The area was designated Nepal's first Himalayan national park in 1971, although the park was not ofically estiblished.

This high and isolated region inhabited by Tamang whose trligious practices, languages and dress are much more simallar to those of Tibetan than to traditions of their
cuisins in the middle Hills. A visit to the Langtang Valley offers an oppurtunity to explore Villages,climb Small peaks and Visit glaciers at a comformatialy low elevation.
According to legend a lama following a runway yak discovered the valley. Langtang region trek route goes through traditional, ethnic villages and untouched forests on the way to the peaks of langtang-lirung. The highlights of this region include a visit to langtang valley, helambu region, Kyanjing gompa and the Langtang lirung Glacier. One can also climb the Langsisa peak and visit Gosainkunda Lake Which is one of the holiest Lake in Nepal.
